Triquetra, Triskele Jewellery & Gifts - Shop

The Triquetra has been adopted by many paths: in Latin it literally means "three cornered". For the Celts it symbolises the People of the Goddess, and the cycle of Birth, Death and Rebirth. For Wiccans it symbolises the Triple Goddess (Mother, Maiden and Crone); for other Pagan paths it can symbolise Land, Sea & Sky, or Mind, Body & Soul; for the Norse traditions it is related to the Valknut (the Norse Triskelion); and it has also been used for the Christian Trinity. It is also known as the Trinity Knot. For others it is a symbol of Protection or Good Luck. More recently it has become known in the TV show "Charmed" taking on its pagan and celtic roots, and protecting the wearer from dark energies.

The Triskele or Triskelion, is a motif consisting of three interlocking spirals. It can be found on artwork and everyday objects dating back to Neolithic, Bronze Age, and Iron Age use in Europe. It is considered a Celtic symbol but is in fact a pre-Celtic symbol. It is carved into the rock of a stone lozenge near the main entrance of the prehistoric Newgrange monument in County Meath, Ireland ~ which was built around 3200 BCE. Like the Triquetra symbol, it symbolises a variety of triplicities in Pagan, Celtic, Norse and Neo-Pagan paths.
